The polished brass ball is sealed on both sides by nylon ring seals that are supported by compensating nitrile ’O’ rings. This arrangement keeps the seal in contact with the ball, preventing leakage should seal wear occur. A single threaded insert forms part of the valve body, maintaining the required seal compression and allowing the valve to be disassembled easily for inspection.
