The Birds of Australia Commemorative Collection – Volume One includes 8 spectacular commemoratives, each depicting an iconic Australian bird – finished in PURE SILVER! This colourful collection celebrates John Gould’s ‘The Birds of Australia’. Known as the ‘Father of Australian Ornithology’, Gould published his epic work in seven volumes throughout the 1840s.
Based on the original Victorian illustrations, each commemorative features an Australian bird, like the rainbow lorikeet, kookaburra, black swan (plus many more) – struck to Prooflike quality and enhanced in full colour. The perfect finishing touch – each 40mm commemorative features a special edition obverse and an exclusive John Gould ‘JG’ Privymark.
This case comes with five out of the eight coins featuring three certificates of authenticity for: kookaburra, blue-breasted fairy-wren and marbled frogmouth
