2022 ANZAC Day 80th Anniversary of Kokoda One Dollar Coin
Anzac Day falls on the 25 April each year, the day Australian and New Zealand troops landed on the Gallipoli peninsula in 1915. Since 1916, it has been dedicated to commemorative activities honouring the courage and sacrifice of the first ANZACs during World War I and all succeeding Defence Force personnel who have served in times of war and other operations.
The 2022 Anzac Day coin marks the 80th anniversary of one of Australia’s most significant World War II campaigns – the Kokoda Trail – fought in the then Australian Territory of Papua during 1942/43.
Including a symbolic flaming torch and the inscription ‘LEST WE FORGET’, the coin is presented on a commemorative card featuring a fold-out stand for upright display.
